Long hair appeals to me. Whether it started when I met my surfer and fell for his long flowing locks, I couldn’t tell you. What I can tell y’all is that pigtails and braids have never been a part of my parenting experience. Maybe I let the boys grow long and shaggy to compensate for the lack of pink girlie frills in my life? At least then, I can run my fingers through their hair occasionally.
Shaggy is youthful and sweet.
Bangs add charm and mischief.
Oh baby, where did you go? There’s a young man standing in your place now.
Fuzzy Wuzzy was a bear. Fuzzy Wuzzy had no hair. {choke}
Oy! What have I done?
Nope, letting the boys keep their locks had zero to do with subconsciously wishing for a little girl. It was all about self delusion and not facing reality. The monkeys are no longer itty bitty. Where oh where has the time gone?
Wistfully,

It will grow back Mom but on a very practical note…I could never understand swimmers with long hair, always fighting to get it out of their eyes. I have a ‘feeling’ your guys are in the water their fair share…seems most appropriate!
They look cute either way but your oldest monkey is starting to lean towards handsome versus cute. Growing up is hard for mom isn’t it? XO
Thanks Barb, it is so hard as you know. But you are right, swim team is back in session so it was time to get the shag out of their eyes :D xoxo
They’re getting so BIG!
Look how big your boys have gotten! WOW!
