Happy “Belated” Caribbean Thanksgiving via Surferboy

For the first time since we met Surferboy was not home for Thanksgiving. Work happened to call him away this year. When work calls you, go right no matter how difficult it may be.

I mean between the heat, the turquoise waters and diving for his meal each night it just breaks my heart contemplating what my love is enduring right now. To suffer through those ungodly conditions and then miss Thanksgiving on top of it all, the horror! Nah, I’m only kidding. Don’t let his grin and happy shaka fool you. This is one trip that has weighed on his heart more than usual but we know how to cheer each other up making the time fly. Social media outlets are now our best friends.

Fortunately, he is with our friend Captain Randy who happens to live in the area. Randy made sure that he was not alone during Thanksgiving, nor that he would go hungry. Randy took him to Miss Merrica’s where she throws a traditional Thanksgiving with all the trimmings for visitors. My eternal thanks Miss Merrica for taking such good care of my guy.

That part about diving for dinner was no joke, seriously. Can we say no fair on the gigantic fresh lob’sta! Cute story, see the stuffed mushroom up there? DS tried it in honor of me. That is HUGE y’all, the man despises mushrooms with a passion but he knows that I adore them, thank you sweetheart for suffering through the fungi taste test for me.

It warms my heart to know that he spent the holiday enjoying good music, food and cheer with sweet people. Mostly I am thankful for all of our dear friends who look out for him while he is so far from home. Knowing that he is safe is what makes each trip bearable; I don’t know what I would do otherwise. Probably be even more cuckoo for cocoa puffs than I already am.

In all honesty, I am a wee bit green/envious of Surferboys latest adventure, especially since he cannot stop regaling me with stories of Merrica’s decadent Spiced Pumpkin Cheesecake. Tease! That’s alright I know where we are all going next year for Thanksgiving {wink}.

We truly hope that you had a wonderful day spending time with your families and creating more treasured memories.

All our love!

Tough life he has…but then you got to spend the day with your Dad and the boys I’m hoping? That lobster is to die for. I would probably die but I would dive for one of those!
