Dipping Into Spring Break {Nutella Greek Yogurt Dip}

This week has been all about kicking back, taking each day in stride while we try to wrap our heads around our “summer” schedule again. Yes, I realize that it is still spring guys but it feels like summer to us, physically and mentally. Surferboy is already on the move again this year. As it happens his contest/travel schedule worked its way into spring this year. Usually the monkeys and I see him off and running in June but he has been hanging out in Cali all this week.

He’s a little bummed about it though because he had to leave smack dab in the middle of M2′s spring break. No worries though, little man attends year round school so his spring break is three weeks long, lucky duck. However this means that I have been a little off my A game. Okay, I am a walking talking mess. You would think that I’d be used to our schedule by now, not quite y’all. I suppose the stark contrast of silence in comparison to DS’s breathing and snoring over the past seventeen years still disrupts my ability to catch a few Zzzz’s. Don’t tell him I said anything about his snoring.

Even the monkeys have had some sleepless nights this time around. They have gone from lithium charged groms to boys that are running off potato batteries. Therefore, we have just been chillin’ during my days off while M1 is in school. Big brother starts his spring break this afternoon. You could say that we have been dipping our toes into spring break rather than charging into it like we normally would. Walks in the park, a trip to the bouncy gym or traipsing around the neighborhood with a buddy, swords in hand looking for an adventure have been M2′s past times. Of course taking a break here and there on a shady porch can’t be forgotten.

That’s where I come in. If it wasn’t for their grumbling tummies these two cuties wouldn’t have a clue that I was around. They have classic spring fever. Imaginary battles played out on the front lawn, races through the parks and my favorite…in depth discussions about what type of home they will have when they grow up, right down to multitude of pets they will smother with love. The conversations between boys always puts a smile on my face while warming my heart. I could just squeeze them but then they would know I was there and be pestering me for snacks 24-7. Boys are walking talking stomachs y’all, especially on warm lazy days.

Pulling me out of my hammock on such days while I’m trying reduce the amount of cob webs floating around my brain by staring at the back of my eyelids is nigh impossible. Unless you happen to be the devoted mom of M2. That boy could persuaded a lamb to snuggle up with a lion. All he has to do is bat those hazel green eyes and flash those big silly chompers and I’m putty. That’s why I decided to make the quickest, easiest snack on the planet in order to get me back to my hammock in record time. Not to mention it was slightly healthy, but don’t tell them that.

Unfortunately my lacks a daisy time in the hammock has come to an end. We are off to a friends birthday party at the skating rink and possibly a diet smashing dinner of burgers, fries and milkshakes. Oh yeah, hello Friday! We hope that you guys have a fab Friday night planned as well. If you are simply kicking it around your house this evening and need an easy sweet tooth fix give this a try.

Hugs & Love,

Shari and the Boys

This looks delicious and taste tested by two little cuties so we know it’s awesome. I bet my daughter would like this one. She is forever melting chocolate to dip apples into.

Wow, this is a really nice idea. I am sure that we all love Nutella and combining it with yogurt is a good way to get something that is both sweet and healthy. I like it a lot!
